That was an unusual one, for sure. It all started when Hermès requested an "astonishing, surprising" experience for their Saut event that year. Our suggestion at Superbien was...connected trampolines. We never expected how fun of a project this would turn out to be!
We used Lidars under the trampolines to get distance data, and TouchDesigner to calibrate said data and send OSC messages to Unity when requested.
I handled the Unity side of things, and made a timeline-based game run, with a few custom shaders and vfx created thanks to the Shader Graph and VFX Graph. The rest was a blend of Unity animator and C# scripts, as could be expected.
We recorded over 3000 plays during the weekend of the event, and the feedback we received made every long night perfectly worth it. Our next step was installing this set up in a few other countries for Hermès, and nothing beats knowing this experience gets to go on for a while longer!
